How much does it pay?
$0.80 per mile, or 30% of the load if you run under your own authority, paid weekly by direct deposit. Drivers typically take home $2,500–$3,500 a week, consistently, with all miles paid. That's open-deck money — comfortably above what most dry van work pays, for the same miles you'd be running anyway. No held-back settlements. Your recruiter will confirm the numbers for the specific lanes you want on the first call.
I'm running dry van now. Is it worth switching?
On the money, yes — flatbed and step deck pay a premium over van, and $0.80 a mile is a meaningful step up for most van drivers. The trade is that you tarp and strap your own freight, which is real work in bad weather. We train you on it and every truck goes out already loaded with tarps, straps, chains and corner protection. Plenty of our drivers came off van and stayed.
What kind of home time can I get?
Depends on the work you pick. Midwest regional gets you home most weeks. Long OTR to the coasts means longer out and longer home. Tell your recruiter what your life needs and we'll be straight about whether we can do it.
I've never pulled a flatbed or step deck. Can I still apply?
Yes — this is the single most common question we get, and the answer is always the same. We train on securement, tarping, chaining and load planning. If you've got the CDL-A and a decent record, no open-deck time is not a dealbreaker. You are not expected to work it out on your own at a customer's yard at 5am.
Do I get my own truck?
Yes. Brand-new, ELD-equipped, and it's assigned to you — no slip-seating, and your gear stays in the bunk. Maintenance runs on a schedule and roadside support is 24/7.
What if I'm a recent CDL school graduate?
Apply and say so on the form. We prefer a year of OTR but we do take on newer drivers when the fit is right, and we'd rather talk to you than screen you out automatically.
